This transformer is connected to the electrode. It will received input directly to AC wall socket and the 240V will be cut down to lower voltage. A fuse will be placed in between the transformer and AC power to avoid any short circuit from happening.

Project Progress
This is the electrode needed to burn the syringe. it will be placed very closed to each other so that when the needle is inserted, both of the electrode will be connected to each other. This electrode can stand high temperature and has a high melting point.

Research(2nd findings)
This is the 2nd findings of my research on needle and syringe destroyer. It is also in PDF format so i will print-screen one of the pages and include the address of the page if you want to visit it. I will give a little bit description on the item.
This one is a little bit different from the first research whereby it uses force to break the needle thus preventing one to uses the needle again. This is how the item look like.
Hypodermic Syringe Destroyer by Joseph J. Arcarese, North Hollywood.
A rectangular cabinet with an openable front panel and a removable box having an open top within the cabinet. Over an opening in the cabinet top is a housing having a pair of aligned holes. A shearing cutter pivoted inside the housing slices through a syringe fitting through the holes which will cut the needle once it is inserted. The user must do the cutting manually.

Syringe Destroyer with Needle Disposing Cannister by Henry W. Nethercutt, Edward J. Lambiotte, Washington.
This invention also uses force and sharp blade to cut down the syringe. A compact, hand operated syringe destroyer and its hub from barrel of an associated syringe and a cannister for collecting a quantity of needle that been cut.

Research(1st findings)
I've already look upon the internet and there are many previous invention of the needle and syringe destroyer.most of the article i found is PDF format and i cant post the PDF in this blog so i just print-screen it and write a few conclusion that i can from the article. Just click on the link if you wanted to knew more.
Instant needle syringe destroyer by Pierre Tanguy, Courbevoie, France.

This needle destroyer uses a metal plate that float on a spring and moves when a needle is inserted into the opening thus destroying the needle into dust by using high temperature heat.

Method and apparatus for destroying a medical instrument by Robert M. Walker, California.

This invention also uses two electrode and destroy the needle by using heat. During operation of the apparatus, the instrument is progressively advanced longitudinally relative to the electrodes to progressively consumes the shaft of the needle as the burning tip continuously advances from the start position to the finish position.

Needle destruction device by Lawrence E. Guerra, Shawnce , KS (US).

This device has a housing with a first electrode and 2nd electrode positioned therein in such a way as to create an annular space between the electrodes. When needle is inserted, the two electrode is short circuit and thus will destroy the needle by heat.

Idea for Project
Why syringe destroyer?
In Malaysia, thousands of syringe is used daily in every hospital. but do the user dispose the syringe in a correct manner?
Is it safe to dispose the syringe in a yellow dustbin without removing the needle first after it is being used on a patient?

My ideas :

Is it safe to dispose the syringe in a yellow dustbin without removing the needle first after it is being used on a patient?

My ideas :
- to create a small and portable syringe destroyer
- auto on/off switch
- destroy the needle and also the tip of the syringe for total safety
- energy saving syringe destroyer
- cheaper than the market
